Playing the Long Name Game

Yesterday I posted a lighthearted essay on personal forecasting—in the form of baby names—over at the World Future Society’s blog. The piece, called “SEO Your New Baby,” is a (satirical) meditation on trends toward ever-escalating status seeking, machine readability, and hedging bets for the distant future.

If you have a friend expecting, you might want to print it out and tuck it in the front of that re-gifted baby name book. Their kids might one day thank you for it.
